Mark A. Kaiman focuses on defending people accused of crimes in District, Municipal, Superior, and Federal courts. With broad legal experience and a diverse background, Mark also helps clients with civil matters such as anti-harassment orders, domestic violence no-contact orders, and sexual assault protection orders.
Mark A. Kaiman began his legal career as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in San Juan County, where he handled hundreds of felony and misdemeanor criminal cases in the District and Superior courts in Friday Harbor. After leaving the County Prosecutor’s Office, Mr. Kaiman worked as an associate at the Law Offices of John O. Linde in Friday Harbor. Under the mentorship of the late Judge Linde, Mr. Kaiman expanded his practice to include civil litigation, employment law, real estate and land use law, along with criminal defense law. Some of the cases handled by Mr. Kaiman included DUI, domestic violence assault, theft, and major felony offenses. Mark A. Kaiman joined the Lustick Law Firm in 2006, and became a partner in 2011. He became Senior Managing Partner of Lustick, Kaiman and Madrone, PLLC in 2016. Today, he continues to fight for the rights of the accused at Victory Legal Services, PLLC. He is a former President of the Whatcom County Bar Association, a member of the San Juan County Bar Association, and has served on the LAW Advocates Board of Directors. For several years, Mr. Kaiman served as a regular judge pro tempore in Whatcom County District Court.
In 2019, Mr. Kaiman was appointed to serve as the presiding Judge of the Ferndale Municipal Court. In addition to serving clients at Victory Legal, Mr. Kaiman is honored to serve the citizens of Ferndale as the presiding judge in Ferndale.
Whether acting as a zealous defense counsel or as a neutral judge, Mark A. Kaiman is committed to making sure that every accused person’s rights to due process and a fair trial are respected.
