How long does it take reckless driving charges to be dropped or dismissed?
If a Reckless Driving charge was filed, the court would have sent out a summons for an arraignment date. If you failed to appear for the arraignment, a judge would have authorized a warrant for your arrest. When a warrant issues, the charge is put on hold.
The charge will not disappear while the case is on warrant status. You cannot simply wait for it to go away. You need to get an attorney to help you quash the warrant and fight the case. If you do not take care of the warrant yourself, you can be arrested at any time. Then you will have to figure out what to do from inside the jail. This would be much more difficult and unpleasant for you.
